Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about IV hydration, hormone replacement therapy, functional testing, anti-aging care, appointments, payment, and privacy at My People's Health.

General

About Our Practice

What is a wellness medical spa?

A wellness medical spa combines the relaxing, upscale environment of a spa with clinical services overseen by licensed healthcare professionals. At My People’s Health, that means evidence-based therapies delivered in a warm, welcoming setting.

Who leads your practice?

Our practice was founded by Emilie Watonsi, DNP, with co-owner Dr. Erin Hammett. You can learn more on our Our Team page.

Who can receive care at My People's Health?

We welcome adults of all ages who want to feel more energized, balanced, and well. Every new client receives an assessment to confirm which services are safe and appropriate.

What makes your approach different?

We combine clinical excellence with family-level compassion. We take time to understand the whole person — your health, lifestyle, and goals — and design care around root causes, not symptoms alone.

IV Hydration

IV Hydration Therapy

How long does an IV session take?

Most infusions take about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the formula and your individual needs.

Does IV therapy hurt?

You may feel a brief pinch when the small catheter is placed. Most clients find the rest of the session relaxing and comfortable.

How often can I receive IV therapy?

Frequency depends on your health, goals, and provider’s recommendation. Some clients come in occasionally for recovery, while others follow a regular wellness schedule.

Is IV therapy safe for everyone?

IV therapy is not appropriate for everyone. People with certain heart, kidney, or other medical conditions may need to avoid it. That is why we screen every client before treatment.

Hormone Therapy

Hormone Replacement Therapy

How do I know if my hormones are out of balance?

Common signs include persistent fatigue, mood changes, poor sleep, weight changes, low libido, hot flashes, and brain fog. Because these symptoms can have many causes, we combine a detailed consultation with lab testing.

Is hormone therapy only for women?

No. Hormone imbalances affect people of all genders. We evaluate each client individually, whether they are navigating perimenopause, menopause, low testosterone, or other changes.

How soon will I notice results?

Many people notice changes within a few weeks, while full benefits may take several months. Your provider will monitor your progress and adjust your plan as needed.

What are the risks?

Like any medical treatment, hormone therapy has potential risks and side effects. Your provider will review your personal and family history, discuss risks and benefits openly, and monitor you with follow-up testing.

Functional Testing

Functional Testing

How is functional testing different from a standard checkup?

Standard labs are often designed to detect disease. Functional testing may look at a broader range of markers to help explain how your body is functioning and what may be contributing to your symptoms.

What kinds of tests are available?

Depending on your needs, testing may include comprehensive blood panels, hormone and thyroid panels, nutrient levels, metabolic and inflammatory markers, and other specialized assessments. Your provider recommends only what is relevant to you.

How long do results take?

Most results are available within a few days to a few weeks, depending on the test. We will schedule a visit to walk you through your results and next steps.

Anti-Aging

Anti-Aging & Rejuvenation

What does "anti-aging" mean at your practice?

For us, anti-aging means supporting longevity, skin vitality, and overall health so you look and feel your best at every stage of life — not chasing unrealistic results.

Are the results permanent?

Aging is a natural, ongoing process, so most results require maintenance. Your provider will recommend a realistic plan to help you sustain your progress.

Is there downtime?

Many of our wellness-based treatments involve little to no downtime. Your provider will explain what to expect for any specific treatment before you begin.
